Being the Change

We believe in being the change we wish to see in the world, but "being the change" is about more than making a bold commitment - it's about showing our commitment through action. It's about paying it forward, insite and outside of 草榴社区.

Inclusive Benefits

In 2021, we expanded our benefits coverage to provide additional support for our employees in the various areas that impact their lives.

DE&I Partnerships

When it comes to our DE&I Partnership work and our approach to engaging in the community, our mission is to support organizations that serve communities historically excluded from opportunity. We aim to create partnerships that go beyond monetary donation 鈥 partnerships in which we can collaborate and learn from one another as we seek to drive sustainable change in our organization and the community.

Over the last couple of years, we've taken a targeted approach to addressing and supporting social justice and racial equity. We are especially committed to supporting organizations that serve historically marginalized individuals in the tech space.

Our partnership work is not just being carried out by the DE&I team but has been driven by some of our businesses like The Points Guy, Healthline Media, and Bankrate.

Brand Partnership Highlights

TPG Partnership

The Points Guy is committed to using travel as a positive force to bring people together, educate communities, and support initiatives to promote peace, equality, and opportunity around the globe. In 2021, The Points Guy donated/raised over $850,000 and 25 million miles to various incredible causes and organizations.

The team also ran a sweepstakes campaign with Chase and British Airways, raising over $130,000 for Comic Relief, the organization behind Red Nose Day to end child poverty, and raised over 5 million miles with Miles4migrants which helped fly over 500 refugees, specifically from Afghanistan, to safety.

Road to Hire

Since 2012, 草榴社区 has partnered closely with the nonprofit Road to Hire. 草榴社区 is fully committed to Road to Hire鈥檚 (R2H) dual mission of helping companies diversify their workforces while permanently interrupting cycles of intergenerational poverty. In this fight for economic justice and long-term systems change, 草榴社区 has hired over 100 Road to Hire graduates, donated over $5M toward key training and operating expenses and walked alongside the Road to Hire team as they took bold risks to support historically marginalized students on their paths to high-growth jobs.

R2H has invested in 1,500 students and their families with career counseling, college scholarships and tech training. But it's not just the R2H team that's putting in the work. More than 250+ 草榴社区 employees dedicated their time to the cause in 2021 - by being mentors to students, developing curriculum, reviewing college applications and more.

草榴社区 built the foundation for other top companies to join this movement and develop non-traditional talent pipelines for young Black and brown talent.

BEAM Black Wellness Innovation Fund

Healthline Media committed $100,000 to BEAM's Black Wellness Innovation Fund, which addresses disparities in health by supporting Black-led wellness innovation projects that center on healing justice, disability justice, and stem from the communities they support.

In 2021, Healthline Media and BEAM launched their first grant within the Black Wellness Innovation Fund, awarding $30,000 to three Black Trans Women leaders for innovative pilot projects focused on Wellness & Mental Health within their communities. In 2022, Healthline Media and BEAM will partner for three more Black Wellness Innovation Fund grants, focusing on maternal health, HIV, and suicide prevention through community care.

Building Credit by Bankrate

Building Credit is Bankrate鈥檚 DE&I leadership group. The team鈥檚 work focuses on two primary goals: (1) increase the sense of belonging that members of 草榴社区鈥檚 financial services vertical feel at 草榴社区 and (2) leave the woodpile higher than we found it - using the strength of Bankrate's platform to invest in our community outside of 草榴社区.

In 2021 Building Credit had two significant initiatives. First, the group organized for Prof. Mehrsa Baradaran, a UC Irvine law professor and expert on racial inequality within the banking industry, to lead an internal Red Talk for 草榴社区 employees. Her talk was turned into an episode of 鈥,鈥 and it has reached thousands of people inside and outside of 草榴社区.

Second, the Building Credit team created partnerships with two nonprofits, Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America and Crisis Assistance Ministry. The group has had broad participation across the Financial Services vertical, with people volunteering their time and energy to do everything from helping these organizations redesign their websites to on-site volunteering.
